Dr. Johnson teaches many students throughout the states of Georgia and South Carolina. Many of these students work diligently and are rewarded for their hard work by placing in both District and All-State Bands. On average, 80-90 percent of his students place in region/district ensembles, and a number of his students also place in All-State ensembles. For the past 6 years, all of his private students have placed at the District level. Dr. J's high school students have also been accepted into Governor's Honors Programs, three over the past four years, and one of his former students won a prestigious prize through the International Horn Society.

High School - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th chairs for District; 1st chair All-State Orchestra and 3rd and 5th chair All-State Band

Winner - 2024 Southeast Horn Workshop HS Solo Competition
